The Photography Group exists to encourage everyone interested in the subject to improve their skills and experience.
At our meetings we enjoy talks on topics illustrating photographic techniques, technical details and artistic considerations. We also learn from each other by sharing photos that the members take for each month's special photo theme (such as trees, motion, indoors, morning...).
One key activity is our photo outings which we do several times a year. With a theme or activity in mind we support each other while taking photos at locations such as Media City, Stockport Market and Bramhall Hall. Then we review our work on-line and in meetings so that we can learn from the successes and failures of everyone.
Our members range in skill from new starters who wish to improve beyond being mobile phone "snappers" to experienced photograpahers with awards and prizes. The one thing we all have in common is the desire to share and benefit from everyone's knowledge and experience.
If you enjoy taking photos and would like to learn more please come along and join us.
December 2018 Report: View
The Photography Group continues to grow in both numbers and diversity of programme. Several members have contributed lectures, demonstrations and personal experiences on topics illustrating both the technical aspects of photography and its artistic possibilities. Additionally as a Group we have visited a diverse range of local venues to experiment with our newly expanded skills and to attempt new techniques. Each month a new photo theme has been chosen for the members to interpret at leisure throughout the month in their own way. The resulting photos have been shared on our private Facebook page generating comments and constructive criticism as well as forming a key part of each month’s Group meeting.
