The Photography Group exists to encourage everyone interested in the subject to improve their skills and experience.
At our meetings we enjoy talks on topics illustrating photographic techniques, technical details and artistic considerations. We also learn from each other by sharing photos that the members take for each month's special photo theme (such as trees, motion, indoors, morning...).
One key activity is our photo outings which we do several times a year. With a theme or activity in mind we support each other while taking photos at locations such as Media City, Stockport Market and Bramhall Hall. Then we review our work on-line and in meetings so that we can learn from the successes and failures of everyone.
Our members range in skill from new starters who wish to improve beyond being mobile phone "snappers" to experienced photographers with awards and prizes. The one thing we all have in common is the desire to share and benefit from everyone's knowledge and experience.
If you enjoy taking photos and would like to learn more please come along and join us.
Please have a look at our gallery which has a selection of photographs taken by the group. Photography Group Gallery
December 2019 Report: View
The Photography Group continues to grow and now has more than 30 members with around 20 joining for each monthly meeting. Each month we have a photo theme for members to interpret and some of the results are posted as a photowall album which can be accessed from our U3A Photography Group web page (http://bramhallu3a.org.uk/groups/photography-gallery.html). We continue to enjoy monthly talks on all aspects of photography ranging from technical issues to artistic guidance and several members have contributed their experiences. As a Group we have visited a number of locations to try out techniques and support each other including this year to Anson Engine Museum, Salford Quays, Reddish Petting Farm and Lyme Park.
